Luke: Today’s first question comes from Stephanie: How long have you been singing for?

Nikki Webster: Since I was about five or six. I started going to singing, dancing and acting classes, and from there it just took off.

Luke: Mick asks if you’re planning to come to Adelaide any time soon?

Nikki Webster: I just did my promo tour for the single and I went to Adelaide. It was great! I should be back in about August to release the album.

Luke: Rohnelle asks: Were you afraid being so high off the ground at the Olympics?

Nikki Webster: No, not at all. I was very excited by it.

Luke: I was afraid watching you! Everyone asks: How were you picked to be in the opening ceremony?

Nikki Webster: I got picked through lots of auditions. I did my first audition in March and I got the part in August.

Luke: Our next question comes from many of Nikki’s fans: When is your album coming out?

Nikki Webster: Sometime in August. I’m really excited about it!

Luke: SweetStrawberryKisses asks: What’s it like being famous?

Nikki Webster: Pretty fun. I get to meet lots of different types of people. It’s a dream come true and I’m having a lot of fun.

Luke: Alyssa asks: Is that your natural hair colour?

Nikki Webster: Yes it is my natural hair colour!

Luke: Everyone asks: Do you get much time to socialise?

Nikki Webster: Yes I do get a lot of time to socialise. The dancers in my video clip are all friends of mine so they get to travel with me.

Luke: So many people have asked this one: Do you have any tips for people who want to be singers?

Nikki Webster: Just to follow your dreams. Have fun at what you are doing and give it a go!

Luke: Devilish_Angel asks: What inspired you to be a singer?

Nikki Webster: Just watching video clips and stuff like that. Then I said to my mum and dad, this is what I want to do.

Luke: Lucy asks: How many times a week do you have to work?

Nikki Webster: Being a child, I am only allowed to work certain hours. I fit work in with my school.

Luke: Courtney asks: What made you think of Strawberry Kisses for a song?

Nikki Webster: It was written by an American writer called Jeff Franzel. Basically, when I heard his song, I just loved it!

Luke: Coco asks: Is your makeup available in shops yet?

Nikki Webster: Yes, it’s sponsored by a company called Jager. It’s called ‘It’s a Girl Thing’. It’s available in certain hairdressers.

Luke: By the way, Nikki is Number 2 in the charts this week and her single has gone Gold! Beetle and Dylan have both asked: What was it like to shoot your first video clip?

Nikki Webster: Pretty amazing! It was a fantastic day. Everyone was really excited for me and I had a fantastic day.

Luke: Everyone asks, were you nervous to be performing at the Olympics in front of so many people?

Nikki Webster: No, not at all. It was just fun.

Luke: Aristos asks: What are your musical influences?

Nikki Webster: My idols are Kylie Minogue and Olivia Newton John. Thanks to everyone who is saying how great the song is. I’m blowing you a strawberry kiss now!

Luke: Lucy asks: Do you get to choose what you wear?

Nikki Webster: Definitely. I design all my clothes!

Luke: Kim asks: Who is the little guy in the film clip?

Nikki Webster: His name is Digital Jimmy. He is a 3D image.

Luke: Everyone asks: Do you have a boyfriend?

Nikki Webster: No, I don’t.

Luke: Jen asks: Was it cool meeting Kylie?

Nikki Webster: Yes it was. She is such a down to earth person and a great role model.

Luke: Everyone asks: How old are you?

Nikki Webster: Fourteen years of age.

Luke: Lots of Nikki’s fans ask: What kind of music do you like?

Nikki Webster: I listen to a wide range of music, from pop to ballads.

Luke: Everyone asks: How long have you been studying dance?

Nikki Webster: Since I was about five or six.

Luke: Timmy asks: When is your birthday?

Nikki Webster: 30 April.

Luke: Liz asks: What is a normal day for you?

Nikki Webster: Basically going to school all the time and then going to my dancing and singing classes after school.

Luke: Nulla_boy asks: What year are you in at school?

Nikki Webster: Year 9.

Luke: Temi asks: How did the Olympics change your life?

Nikki Webster: It changed my life, but not me as a person. People now recognise me and I get to do what I love doing – singing and dancing!

Luke: Bath_konfetti asks: What other things have you performed in?

Nikki Webster: I’ve done four musicals – Cinderella, Aladdin, Les Miserables and the Sound of Music. Also, lots of commercials and things like that.

Luke: Diggie asks: Are you ever going to tour around Australia?

Nikki Webster: One day I’d love to. I’m not sure when, but hopefully very soon.

Luke: Alyson asks: Nikki, what was it like to meet Aaron Carter?

Nikki Webster: He was really easy to get along with and very down to earth. I had a great time.

Luke: We have five minutes left in the chat! Thanks for your question. Marc asks, what’s your favourite colour?

Nikki Webster: My favourite colours are pink, purple and blue. You should see my room – it’s purple!

Luke: Ballet asks: What do you like doing- apart from singing?

Nikki Webster: I love hanging out with my friends. I invite them around and we bake cakes. I go to the movies too.

Luke: Cat has the last question. She asks: What are your favourite subjects at school?

Nikki Webster: Music, computing and English.

Luke: Jo has one last question for Nicki: What was it like working with David Campbell?

Nikki Webster: It was amazing. We still keep in contact. He phones me all the time and is really supportive.
