NIKKI Webster has returned to making music – with a grown-up, raunchy new image. <\/b><\/p>\n
Webster – who is 22 – is about to release a new single called Devilicious<\/i>, which is accompanied by a risque film clip of the type commonly associated with a Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera.<\/p>\n
For Webster, it’s a far cry from the 12-year-old girl who wowed the world during the opening ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics.<\/p>\n
On the new single she sings: “All the boys want to kiss me and the girls can’t resist me.”<\/p>\n
Webster said the content of the song and film clip reflected her age – she was grown up.<\/p>\n
“It wasn’t strategic, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh my God, we’ve got to make it risky’,” she said of the new look and sound.<\/p>\n
“But I’m not afraid to say things.<\/p>\n
“I’ve grown up now, I’ve experience a lot in my life.<\/p>\n
“It’s a bit cheeky, a bit suggestive. But it has to be, the title is Devilicious<\/i>.”<\/p>\n
Webster recorded the track in Los Angeles and it is the first thing she has done musically in four years.<\/p>\n
She spends half her time in Los Angeles after refocusing following some serious backlash a few years after she was the darling of the nation after the Olympics.<\/p>\n
She said Los Angeles was a sanctuary as she thought about the next step in her career.<\/p>\n
