Olympic singing sensation is ready to take on the world. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Pop princess Nikki Webster turns 17 this month \u2013 and she\u2019s ready to take on the world. However, her busy schedule hasn\u2019t left much time for romance and, just like the song on her last album, she\u2019s still Never Been Kissed<\/i>!<\/p>\n

\u201cMy friends and I all kiss each other on the cheek but no, not a boyfriend. I haven\u2019t found anyone that I feel comfortable with yet. Hopefully, that will come,\u201d she tells Woolworth\u2019s Fresh<\/em>.<\/p>\n

And so on April 30, when Nikki turns 17, she\u2019ll spend the night having a quiet dinner with her mum Tina and dad Mark in their inner Sydney home \u2013 the same way she spent her 16th birthday. On the weekend a few gal pals will come over for \u201csome dancing\u201d but the music will \u201cdefinitely not\u201d be from one of her albums!<\/p>\n

\u201cThey would probably love it if we played some of those \u2013 I\u2019d be embarrassed,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n

Most Australians would find it hard to imagine Nikki shirking away from the limelight. After all, in the last four years this baby-faced singer has grown up right before our eyes. Energetic Nikki became world-famous as the fearless high-flying 13-year-old performer at the Sydney Olympics opening ceremony \u2013 appearing before a TV audience of four billion.<\/p>\n

This year the down-to-earth songstress will finish her final year of high school, but not before releasing her third album on June 21 and completing a whirlwind 19 performances in a school holiday tour. \u201cI\u2019m lucky, I\u2019m used to juggling things where a lot of people aren\u2019t. My teachers keep my work or send it by email or mail when I\u2019m away and that support is helping me get through my HSC. I\u2019ve had great training \u2013 I\u2019ve been doing it since I was five.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pint-sized sensation says she definitely has even more stars in her eyes since visiting Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\u201cI stayed right on Rodeo Drive, it was so exciting. America is so different \u2013 it\u2019s great to go over there and have a look \u2013 everyone is so positive,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

Despite her amazing life, Nikki still tries hard to be \u201ca normal girl\u201d. \u201cI go out and love going to the movies \u2013 but I\u2019m lucky I\u2019ve been allowed to reach some of my dreams before I\u2019ve finished school.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talent in the blood<\/b><\/p>\n

Nikki\u2019s big brother Scott, 19, is studying musical theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, the training ground of Australian superstar Hugh Jackman. While Nikki douses down ideas that she and Scott might headline a follow-up production of The Wizard Of Oz<\/em>, she says her big brother is one of her biggest fans. \u201cWe will see what happens\u2026 but he\u2019s always very supportive and defensive of me. I\u2019m his kid sister and that\u2019s it \u2013 he\u2019ll stick up for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
