Six Aussie dads celebrate Father’s Day with their biggest fans – their kids<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s easy to forget that celebrities have a life away from the spotlight and, like most people, it revolves around family. To celebrate Father\u2019s Day on September 2, New Idea Features Editor Monique Butterworth gathered some famous dads and children \u2013 and a couple of famous kids and their dads \u2013 to share what they love doing best together.<\/p>\n

Nikki Webster and dad Mark<\/strong><\/p>\n

When your daughter has an album racing up the pop charts, a lead role in the musical The Wizard of Oz and was the star of the Sydney Olympics opening ceremony, a quiet dad and daughter afternoon at the movies soon turns into an autograph signing frenzy.<\/p>\n

Mark Webster, 41, loves lining up for lollies and popcorn if it means an afternoon at the movies with his daughter Nikki, 14. \u2018Dad and I love going to the movies,\u2019 laughs Nikki. \u2018He gets the popcorn and lollies, and he eats it all! He\u2019s the one with the sweet tooth!\u2019<\/p>\n

For Australia\u2019s \u2018it\u2019 girl of the moment, finding time to kick back at the flicks is tough. \u2018Nikki\u2019s a busy girl,\u2019 laughs Mark. \u2018But we catch a movie whenever we can.\u2019 Nikki already has plans for Father\u2019s Day. \u2018We\u2019ll take Dad out for a nice meal,\u2019 she says. \u2018I think he\u2019ll score a couple of presents. He\u2019ll probably get breakfast in bed, too.\u2019 But any suggestions of a soap-on-a-rope are quickly quashed. \u2018I hope not!\u2019 laughs Mark.<\/p>\n
