THE TEEN IS LEFT DEVASTATED AFTER BEING GIVEN A SCORE OF ONE OUT OF TEN
Dancing With The Stars judge Todd McKenney has no regrets about giving Nikki Webster and Sasha Farber’s tango dance a score of one. “I stand by my score and comments,” says Todd.
He says Nikki and Sasha had been using far too much pizazz in their performances while forgetting the basics. “While they hinted at the tango, the music, the feel, the mood were all missing. They didn’t have a connection — the music was appalling. It was a snazzy routine, which we’ve come to expect from Nikki, but it wasn’t the tango,” he says.
But Nikki argued that last week was the first time they tried something different. “We’ve played it safe up until now … [Todd] hasn’t put anyone else down when they’ve done illegal lifts before.
“I’m upset that the judges scores are not consistent. They’re not judging everyone on the same level — they’re judging me like I’m in a professional ballroom competition, not a TV program for charity,” says the devastated teen star.
But Todd disagrees. “That’s a superficial way of looking at it,” he says.
Todd: ‘Susie was disgraceful’
Judge Todd McKenney also had some harsh words to say about ex-contestant Susie Wilks.
“Susie bowed out in a really disgraceful manner by slagging everyone,” he says. “She was saying things like, ‘If we’d have just got one more point we’d still be in the comp and Derryn [Hinch] would have gone,’ and that’s just so mean.”
Todd also says he found Susie and Jonathan Doone’s dance routines annoying. “They took it too far and they shoved their sex down our throat, and I didn’t like that.”
